Thesis week Leiden & The Hague
FYI: because the thesis weeks have not been well attended for the past few years, the Writing Lab will organize Thesis Boost Days instead. These will be full days in which you can walk in at your convenience and work on your thesis - there will be writing coaches present to help. The Thesis Boost Day in Leiden will be on May 20th; the one in the Hague on May 22nd. The final programme will follow ASAP!
During the Thesis Weeks, you will write your thesis together with other students for a week under the supervision of the Writing Lab. Writing coaches will be present to support you in your process. You will start the day with a communal start and during the week you will follow various workshops that will help you to become a better writer. The Thesis weeks in Leiden will be in either Dutch or English; those in the Hague will be in English.
The thesis week offers you:
- Structure to your day and your writing process
- Contact with other students working on their thesis
- Different workshops (e.g. planning, writing discipline, personal coaching and more)
Participation in the Thesis week is free for students of the Faculty of Humanities.
You are a third year/master/pre-master student at the Faculty of Humanities of Leiden University and have just started or are in the process of writing your thesis.
The Thesis weeks in the second semester of 2024-2025 are as follows:
Leiden (Dutch/English):
- May 6 to 9, daily from 10:15-12:00 in Lipsius 1.13.
- May 19 to 23, daily from 10:15-12:00 in Lipsius 1.13.
The Hague (English):
- May 6 to 9, daily from 10:15-12:00 in Wijnhaven 2.59 (May 6 and 7); 2.19 (May 8) and 3.16 (May 9).
- May 19 to 23, daily from 11:15-13:00 in Wijnhaven 2.19 (May 19, 21 and 23) en 3.16 (May 20 and 22).
