Arie Bijl promoveerde in 1938 in de Natuurkunde in Leiden, maar overleed in 1945 in concentratiekamp Neuengamme. Hoogleraar Sense Jan van der Molen sprak op de Arie Bijlhof in Oegstgeest over deze bijna vergeten verzetsheld.
