Programme
When deciding what to study you undoubtedly read a lot of information about your study programme. Leiden University employs various systems to provide information about programmes and courses and to facilitate communication between lecturers and students.
The Prospectus contains information about all the courses within your study programme. Here you can find all you need to know about your programme. Via the online learning environment Brightspace you can communicate with your lecturers and submit assignments.
While the classes mainly focus on linguistic phenomena in German, they also contain typological aspects, e.g. with respect to similarities and differences between German and Dutch. Comparisons between these two closely related languages help to gain insight into various aspects that are relevant for our understanding of linguistic processes.
You are encouraged to incorporate your own ideas and research plans: whatever your preferences may be (e.g. linguistic theory, fieldwork, psycholinguistic experiments, or a combination thereof), our young team will support and advice you. Furthermore, as all specialist classes are taught in German, you will acquire a high level of language skills, including fluency in a formal register.
See the Prospectus for more information about the study programme.
