When deciding what to study you undoubtedly read a lot of information about your study programme. Leiden University employs various systems to provide information about programmes and courses and to facilitate communication between lecturers and students.
The Prospectus contains information about all the courses within your study programme. Here you can find all you need to know about your programme. Via the online learning environment Brightspace you can communicate with your lecturers and submit assignments.
Chinese Linguistics is a lively and ever growing field, with a large number of active participants, both inside and outside China. This programme brings you up to date with respect to the most recent developments in part of this area of linguistics.
The first semester offers two courses: a state-of-the-art introduction into all aspects of Chinese linguistics and a course on the sounds of Chinese. Both courses are obligatory for those who take Chinese Linguistics as their specialisation. In addition, students choose one other course from the linguistics programme.
In the second term, students choose one of the following two courses: Topics in Chinese linguistics and Topics in Chinese syntax and semantics, and write their MA thesis (20 ec).
