Minors
A minor allows you to develop your knowledge beyond the boundaries of your study programme, or to specialise further in your own field of study. You can follow a minor in Leiden and also in Delft or Rotterdam.
A minor is a cohesive set of courses. Most consist of 15 to 30 credits (ECs) which means you can use your elective credits to follow a minor. In terms of level, minors are most suitable for third-year bachelor’s students.
A minor allows you to broaden your knowledge and skills by looking beyond the boundaries of your own study programme, or to further specialise in your own field of study, for example, in preparation for a master's.

(Interdisciplinairy) Minors
A minor is a coherent package of courses from another programme. Minors include 30 ec of credit; for some minors it is possible to complete a half minor for which you earn 15ec. More than half of the 50 minors offered at Leiden University are offered in the English language.
Note: Minors in Psychology add no value if you are studying psychology and are not allowed.
Interdisciplinary minors
The Institute of Psychology participates in two multidisciplinary minors, which are open to psychology students:
Minor with overlap
Please note! The material in course Statistics in the minor Tweedetaalverwerving significantly overlaps with the statistics courses within the psychology programme. This course can therefore not be included in the electives requirement. This means students following this minor would earn a maximum of 25 ec, instead of 30 ec.
