Awarding of diploma

Once you complete your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree you will be awarded your diploma during a celebratory graduation ceremony. Some study programmes also have ceremonies for the awarding of first-year (propedeuse) diplomas or other important achievements. The awarding of your diploma is always arranged by your faculty or study programme.

Graduation ceremony LLM

Your graduation date is different from the date of the graduation ceremony. Your ceremony date is set by the Onderwijs Informatie Centrum and depends on the date you send your application form to OIC@law.leidenuniv.nl. It is not possible to change either the date or time of your ceremony.

For example: you apply for graduation in October, your graduation date will be the last working day of October and the ceremony will take place in November.

For the master graduation ceremony the following dates are set:   

For the master Law and Society there will only be one ceremony held in September. Still, students have to apply for graduation as soon as they finished all courses, as mentioned here.

Current graduation lists
The lists will published on Diploma-uitreiking. Once the list is available, it is placed there.
