Present imaginations of the past and its tangible and intangible dimensions, are a major factor in the ways in which societies, and the various groups which constitute these, imagine themselves. Research Internships that fall within this category are being offered by for example museums, municipalities or public-private organisations.

* “Heritage and the Question of Conversion”: Internships in Work Package 3B of Pressing Matter

As a student researcher, you become part of the WP3b ‘team’  From 1 September 2024, you may join the following part-projects: 

  • Visitor research and historical ethnographic research into the (reception of) changing ethnographic labels and scenography used at Missiemuseum Steyl, including the relationship between the ethnographic and the natural history parts of the museum.

* At Home Otherwise: Rethinking Heritage through Diversity

This research project investigates diversifying and democratizing heritage through practices of “home-making”. Research may include studies of displays of immigration histories, and forms of collaborative heritage, mostly in the Netherlands, with possible comparisons elsewhere in Europe.
