What is the Humanities Thesis Seminar?

The seminar consists of participating in the Thesis Kick-Off and one individual coaching session. To pass the seminar, you are required to attend the two Kick-Off workshops and at least one individual coaching session. You are more than welcome to book more (up to 5) coaching sessions. Both the workshops and the coaching sessions are free of charge for Humanities students.

The workshops

In the two mandatory workshops we'll treat important aspects of writing your thesis:

• A Jump Start to Your Thesis! 
  (Subjects include: collecting and organizing literature; research questions; building your argument; making a writing plan...)
• Writing a thesis: An efficient planning and structure
  (Subjects include: organizing and structuring your text; planning; how to avoid procrastinating; writing style; paragraphs; paraphrasing...)

The workshops are both in Leiden and in the Hague, on the following dates:

25 September - in Dutch (Leiden, Lipsius 1.51)

Individual coaching session

In the 45 minute one-on-one coaching session you can zoom in on your precise needs in thesis writing. Everything you will discuss with your coach will be confidential. You can choose one of our locations in Leiden or the Hague, or even opt for an online session. If you like, you can send your coach a piece of your writing beforehand which you will then discuss during the meeting. More information, including how to book an appointment, can be found here.
