Graduation Ceremony BSc Psychology filled with passion
On Friday 27 September, through all weathers, Bachelor of Psychology graduates gathered at the Hooglandse Kerk with family and friends to receive their diplomas.
The ceremony kicked off with a welcome speech by Daan Scheepers, member of the examination committee. After this, the graduation ceremony officially started. The students came forward in groups of four, with loud applause, to receive their diplomas. Special achievements, such as obtaining cum laude or following the Honours programme, were also mentioned.
Marcello Pepe, one of the graduates, then shared his personal experiences and gave an inspiring speech in which he stressed the importance of passion. His words brought much recognition to those present and provided a nice moment of reflection on the past years.
Next, student advisor Merel Beem initiated an important moment: students were allowed to move the tassel of their beret to the left. This is a traditional gesture marking the transformation from student to graduate. After this, the berets flew through the air, while the church was filled with loud applause and cheering.
This joyful ceremony was followed by a festive drinks reception, where the graduates got together with their friends, family and teachers to celebrate their achievements.
