New master’s specialisations in Law from 2025/2026
With the introduction of two new master’s specialisations in 2025/2026, the range of programmes offered by Leiden Law School will be even broader and more varied. In these new specialisations, you will learn about the intersections between law and business administration and law and migration.
The new degree options are designed to respond to topical issues occurring within the law and society. From the next academic year, students will be able to specialise in the following areas:
Governance of Migration and Diversity
This is a new English-taught specialisation within the master’s Rechtsgeleerdheid (Law) that focuses on the legal aspects of migration and diversity. Students will acquire insights into the legal and policy frameworks that regulate migration. The programme offers a more in-depth understanding of the legal challenges related to integration and migration management.
Law and Business Administration
Another new Dutch-taught specialisation within the master’s Rechtsgeleerdheid (Law) is ‘Recht en Bedrijfskunde’ (Law and Business Administration). This specialisation combines courses in law and business administration and will prepare students to analyse and resolve legal issues in a business context. This programme is ideal for students who want to build a bridge between law and entrepreneurship.
Finally, the faculty is also introducing a completely new Dutch-taught master’s programme ‘Economie van de Publieke Sector’ (Public Sector Economics). This degree programme focuses on the economic analysis of policy within the public sector, offering courses on public finance, public policymaking and the impact of legislation. This master’s programme is aimed at students with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.
