Internship Opportunities Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies
Are you interested in public international law and eager to gain hands-on experience? The Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies is looking for enthusiastic interns to assist with organizing and coordinating its 2025 activities. This includes but is not limited to events such as the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition, the IBA International Criminal Court Moot Court Competition, the Duke-Leiden Institute in Global and Transnational Law, and our Summer Courses in International Law. Position Overview
As an intern, you will primarily support our Project Managers with a range of organizational and administrative tasks. This role provides excellent opportunities for professional development, knowledge building, and networking within the field of public international law.
Internship Positions Available
- 2 Full-Time Interns (01 January – 31 July 2025)
- 1 Full Time Intern (01 February – 30 August 2025)
- 1 Part-Time Intern (11 November 2024 – 31 July 2025)
Availability to be discussed with applicants on a case-by-case basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with logistics for the Centre’s activities, including moot court competitions and summer courses.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support, such as responding email inquiries, creating promotional content, preparing materials for students and participants, and maintaining databases.
- Maintain communication with various stakeholders involved in these activities.
- Manage social media platforms (X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
- Attend and support on-site activities.
Skills & Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in the European Union (preferably with an internship as part of your curriculum).
- Applicants must already have the right to work in the Netherlands.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience managing social media accounts is a plus.
- Familiarity with design tools like InDesign, Canva, or Photoshop is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in-person at our office in The Hague throughout the duration of the internship. Please note that May-July 2025 are the months in which most activities will take place, and as such in-person work will be necessary.
