Bart Barendregt on Unesco Chair in Anthropology of Digital Diversity
Bart Barendregt explains his new Unesco Chair in Anthropology of Digital Diversity in an interview on the Unesco website. The work of this chair falls within several Unesco programmes, such as those around the ethics of artificial intelligence and the Open Science recommendation. In the interview, Barendregt discusses why 'new' technologies are subjects for anthropologists, the interaction between Muslim communities and technology and what he wants to achieve with the chair.
As anthropologists, we are primarily interested in what a technology does to our human-ness.
