New lecture series: Joint Lectures on Evolutionary Algorithms (JoLEA)
On September 15th a new series of lectures will start, the Joint Lectures on Evolutionary Algorithms (JoLEA). This series of events is aimed at disseminating the latest, top-quality research on EAs. The lectures will feature world-renowned speakers, local researchers, and PhD students.
The lecture series provides a way for researchers, students, and enthusiasts to share their work, showcasing the latest advances in the world of EAs both in the Netherlands (which is a home of several EA research leaders) and in the world. We aim to provide a platform for open discussion, alternating talks given by PhD students with insightful keynotes from top researchers from the EA community. Participants will get an update about state-of-the-art research in EA, as well as the ability to interact with the many researchers working in the field in the Netherlands.
JoLEA events will take place approximately every two months. In the first lecture on 15 September. PhD candidate Anton Bouter from CWI will talk about Optimal Mixing Evolutionary Algorithms for Large-Scale Real-Valued Optimization, and PhD candidate Roy de Winter from Leiden University will present Constrained Multi-Objective Ship Design Optimization with a Limited budget of Function Evaluations.
