Campus The Hague is spread out over five buildings in the administrative heart of the city. Leiden University's students, researchers and staff are able to work and study at locations with direct links to topics that are relevant to The Hague such as governance and security.

Leiden University regularly opens its doors for informative, inspiring, and socially engaged events that are closely related to the educational and research programmes of Campus The Hague. If you would like to organise something that might be of interest to our students and/or staff, please feel free to enquire about the possibilities.

Due to limited building capacity, the planning of educational and research activities always takes priority over other events. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate meetings, conferences, and events that do not include our students and/or staff as their target audience.

Rooms

Please find information about the rooms and their facilities in this presentation

Contact

If you would like to know more about the possibilities, please feel free to contact Jamy van Baarsel and/or Joany Doornik, Event Coordinators Campus The Hague at: events@cdh.leidenuniv.nl.

University parking facilities

Parking spaces on Leiden University campuses are limited. Do you have an appointment with one of our staff members? Please mention that you are coming by car; if possible, a parking spot will be arranged for you in one of our parking facilities.

Municipal parking facilities

Are you visiting the Hortus botanicus, student centre Plexus or one of our faculties in the centre of Leiden? There are (limited) opportunities for paid parking on the streets and along the canals. An alternative is Parking Leiden Haagweg car park, which is easily accessible from the access roads to Leiden. A free shuttle bus will take you to any location in the centre of Leiden and pick you up again at any time. You can also walk: the car park is about 15 minutes' walk from the city centre.

Seven faculties

Right in the city centre is Wijnhaven, the beating heart of Campus The Hague. Around 3,500 students take classes here and in the other Campus The Hague buildings. There is also room for study, discussion and group work. Researchers and lecturers from six of the seven faculties teach or conduct research here. In addition, Delft University of Technology has a presence on the fifth floor, and there is a high-tech studio for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

Classrooms and silent study areas

Wijnhaven comprises almost 14,000m2 of teaching and research facilities, and offers 630 study spaces, 280 silent study spaces, 140 study spaces with a computer, a library, an information desk, an area for study associations and offices for around 250 members of the University staff. There are five lecture halls, both big and small, and 21 smaller classrooms with flexible walls. The Centre for Innovation’s Future Lab can be found on the first floor. Right next to the entrance is a coffee corner, and on the first floor there is not only a coffee bar but also a restaurant.
