In the first semester of year 3, you have the opportunity to do an internship. The purpose of an internship is to learn how to apply knowledge and skills acquired during the first two years of the study, as well as gaining additional skills. You can find the most important requirements regarding the Security Studies internship on this page.
Internship BSc Security Studies
The options that you have as a Security Studies student are the following:
1) Doing an internship in the Elective Space (which is the first semester of your third year). For this internship you can receive 15 or 30 ECTS. Please take a look at the online Studyguide to find out which requirements you should meet in order to be able to receive those credits.
2) Doing an internship outside of the Elective Space in 'your own time'. For this internship you will not receive any credits, but it can be very useful to choose this option to at least gain more work experience. This type of internship can be done outside of the Elective Space at any time you'd like and see a fit in your study.
When you are a fulltime Security Studies student, you will automatically be added to our Brightspace page (BaSS Elective Space). On this page we have gathered all necessary information to prepare you for an internhip and we will also post vacancies here sent to us by different organisations.
