Questions?
If you have any questions, contact your internship or research project coordinator.
Internships during the Masters Crisis and Security Management
Although doing an internship is not part of the Master programme, you are of course allowed to do so. Internships give you the opportunity to work in an organisation within the field of crisis and security management, such as a government organisation, a consultancy firm or a NGO. You can use the knowledge and skills you have acquired during your courses and gain work experience at the same time. An internship can take place in The Netherlands, but also abroad.
You cannot obtain ects for your internship. If you are looking for an extra-curricular activity for which ects can be obtained, please take a look at our Academic excellence Programme.
Planning and timing of an internship
Some internships can be combined with the master's programme as the internships are not full-time or the organisation and/or work is flexible, other internships are not. When an internship can not be combined (which will often be the case), it is best to do the internship before starting the Master's or after you finished all courses. You are responsible for the planning of the internship, so this is up to you. But please, do always contact the study advisors to inform them about a possible delay or postponement of the graduation.
