The Museum Lab offers 4 enquiry-based workshops during the spring semester of 2025. Each workshop will take place at or in collaboration with a different institution and address another aspect of museum practice. Up to 20 students can take part in each workshop, with sign-up being on a first-come-first-served basis.

At the Special Collections of the University of Leiden, Wereldmuseum Leiden, Rijksmuseum Boerhaave, and the Stolpersteine Foundation, students are provided with the opportunity to be involved in decision-making processes. Students are given agency and become able to play a role in heritage practices. The workshops provide access to the museum and its collections as well as insight into the inner workings of the institution or foundation. Addressing one or several of the institution’s current challenges, the students will curate small exhibits, research collection histories, design educational activities, and propose new acquisitions.
