Join us for a unique opportunity to listen, learn, and ask questions about North Korea! The Basis East Asia Committee is thrilled to welcome PSCORE once again to Wijnhaven, raising awareness about North Korea’s reality.
This year, we have the honor of hosting two incredible defectors, Lee Young-Hyeon and Lee Byung-Lim, who will share their powerful life stories with us on Friday, March 21st. You’ll hear firsthand about their experiences in North Korea, their escape, and their journey beyond—and you’ll have the chance to ask them your own questions!
Who Will You Meet?
👤 Lee Young-Hyeon (이영현) – The first North Korean defector to become a lawyer in South Korea! From escaping the North to earning a law degree at Yonsei, he now fights for justice at the Supreme Court and advocates for North Korean human rights.
👤 Lee Byung-Lim (이병림) – She escaped North Korea in 2010, but her son was forcibly repatriated and sent to a political prison camp. Today, she works tirelessly to protect defectors and raise awareness about the dangers they face.
