Join BASIS Latin America and Interlatina in an empowering textile workshop for this year's International Women’s Day!

“100 Butterflies for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Girls, and Non-Binary People” will reflect on the legacy of the Mirabal sisters, the human rights activists from Dominican Republic, and allow you to learn to embroider symbols of resistance: butterflies and caterpillars. Enjoy the opportunity to raise awareness about gender inequality and gender-based violence in Latin America while participating in a uniting action of embroidery.

This event is a part of collaboration with Paulina Rabah Ramírez, a lecturer for Culture & Language of Latin America, and Warmi Küyen, a feminist textile collective of Latin American artists that seeks to promote Andean culture and textile traditions in the Netherlands (@warmi_kuyen).

All materials for the workshop will be provided.
