Major Shar Timman is an engineer at the Defence Space Security Center of the Royal Netherlands Air Force. After graduating from the Aerospace Engineering faculty in Delft, she worked at the European Space Agency where she obtained her PhD in human-machine interaction for manned lunar missions. At the air force, she works on Dutch military satellites and future satellite projects.
Major Timman will introduce the audience to the history of the space race and the weaponisation of space. She will speak about contemporary issues in the space domain, developments in the Netherlands armed forces and around us, and reflect on the dilemmas, and threats, that the weaponisation of space poses.
