Leading international and local human rights organizations have recognized that Israel has established an apartheid regime to dominate the Palestinian people, adding another layer of proof to the unlawful and inhumane treatment Palestinians are subject to in their homeland. The current and previous UN Special Rapporteurs on the occupied Palestinian territories have reached the same verdict. The panel will provide the opportunity for representatives of Palestinian and international human rights organizations, as well as the current UN special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, to explain their findings on apartheid and its relationship with the settler-colonial project Israel has pursued over Palestine for over a century.
