In March, Leiden University and the Dispuut 'F. Kaiser will again hold a series of lectures, the so-called Kaiser Spring Lectures, at the Old Observatory in Leiden. The theme this year is "The Circle of Life: from the beginning of the universe to the formation of life". Four scientists, will lecture on this theme every Saturday in March. The aim of the lectures is to make astronomy accessible to the general public. Every year, there is a lot of enthusiasm for them. This year's programme is as follows:
Saturday 4 March (Dutch): Bas Haring with a philosophical take on this topic
Saturday 11 March (English): Karina Caputi on the early universe
Saturday 18 March (English): Nienke van der Marel on astrochemistry
Saturday 25 March (Dutch): Ignas Snellen on exoplanets and the search for life
The lectures can be attended online or at the Old Observatory.
Tickets will soon be available on the website for €4.50 p.p.
