Stand as a candidate for the 2025 University Elections

13 March 2025

On 8 and 9 April you can submit your candidacy for the University elections this May. As a student, you can stand this year for the University Council, all faculty councils and the LUMC Student Council. Would you like to represent the interests of students this year?

What is University participation?

The University Council, faculty councils and employee councils monitor how our university is run, give solicited and unsolicited advice and help decide on important issues. The University Council does this at the Executive Board level and the faculty councils do this at the faculty level. Read more about their work and how to contact them on the campaign page.

Why stand as a candidate?

Not only does a role in the University participation bodies give you the chance to represent student interests, but it also ensures good management. In addition, you will also develop valuable skills such as networking, negotiation, arguing and assessing policy. And you will be first to hear about the latest developments at the University!

How can I stand as a candidate?

To stand as a candidate, you need to complete the necessary forms and submit them on 8 or 9 April at the polling station. For more details on steps to take, see the ‘Standing as a candidate’ page. On the campaign page you will find more information about the elections.
