Your artwork could soon grace a wall in the KOG building!
Are you an art lover with the talent to bring a drawing to life? Or do you just enjoy drawing and painting? Then look no more! Leiden Law School is organising a unique mural competition where your design will be immortalised on a wall in the KOG building! The mural competition is part of Leiden University and Leiden Law School’s 450th anniversary celebrations. Since our anniversary theme is ‘ahead of the times’, you can use digital tools to create your design.
Who can take part?
Everyone! Professional or amateur, young or old, student or employee – if you’d like to help produce an amazing piece of art, you’re welcome to take part.
What are we looking for?
There are a few elements that should be reflected in the design:
- Leiden University
- 450th anniversary
- Law
- Criminology
- Leiden
- The KOG building
- Studying in Leiden
Besides these elements, you’ll also need to submit two versions of your design: one black and white version and one with colour added. We can then use a photo to trace your design onto the wall, as the concept we’re using is ‘painting by numbers’. Students and staff (including yourself of course) can then colour it in, using the numbers that represent the colours. We’ll discuss with the winner whether they’d like to take part in actually painting the mural or not. It’s not a requirement.
Is there a prize?
Besides the sheer glory of your design gracing a wall on the ground floor of the KOG – where hundreds of students and staff will pass by every day and admire your artwork – there will also be a small prize.
Deadline
Submit your design by 16 February 2025 at the latest to lustrum450@law.leidenuniv.nl. Contact Hannah Saberi on this email address if you have any questions.
So join in and show off your talent!
