E-mail forwarding from uMail to another email address
As a Leiden University student you will receive an uMailadres and your own personal mailbox, in which you can sign in with your ULCN log-in details. All university e-mail communication is conducted through uMail.
Auto forwarding is a function that forwards incomming e-mails automatically to another e-mailadress. If your university e-mail is not configured on your smartphone or laptop, forwarding ensures that you do not have to miss these e-mails. This ensures you will not miss important messages, such as updates on deadlines, schedule changes, or announcements from lecturers
Configuring e-mail forwarding
Students can forward their uMail to any any e-mail adress that they wish. You can forward your uMail as follows:
- Sign in at the Leiden University Office 365 registration page. Use your university Microsoft account: <ULCNstudentnumber>@vuw.leidenuniv.nl and your usual ULCN-password. Your uMail will be displayed in Outlook.
- In Outlook, click the cog-wheel (settings) in the top right of the menu bar.
- Type 'Forwarding' in the Search field.
- Click the search result Forwarding to open the page for entering your forward address.
- Check the Enable forwarding box, enter your forward address and leave the box Keep a copy of forwarded messages unchecked.
- Confirm with [Save] and close the forward address page. From now on, your uMail will be forwarded to the address that you just entered
