Apply for the 2025 FutureMED Postgraduate Exchange
Leiden University's MA in International Relations and The Alwaleed Centre at the University of Edinburgh and invite current master’s students in Leiden and Edinburgh to apply for their 2025 FutureMED Postgraduate Exchange. This unique initiative offers an opportunity for students to spend four days in a partner institution (either Leiden or Edinburgh) in March/April 2025 to gain new perspectives on the study of the global Mediterranean region and its relationship to the wider Muslim world.
Beside auditing relevant courses, students will participate in focus groups with local community organisations with links to the region, and contribute to the writing-up of a policy brief on the (re)construction of the global Mediterranean region and its diverse communities. Students will also participate in a one-day research and policy workshop workshop in the Hague where they will have the opportunity to meet researchers and policy-makers working on, and in, the region. All travel and accommodation costs will be covered.
This opportunity is open to all students on the Leiden’s Institute of History MA in International Relations. To apply, please submit a two-page CV along with a one-page cover letter outlining your motivations for joining the initiative and the experience you would bring to it. Please also specify if you need a visa to travel to Leiden. Applications should be sent via email to Professor Sarah Wolff s.wolff@hum.leidenuniv.nl by Friday 10 January 2025.
This initiative is funded by The Hague Global Futures hub
