Celebrate 40 Years of Public Administration during the Anniversary Day!
On Wednesday, 27 November 2024, we will celebrate a special milestone: the 40th anniversary of Public Administration at Leiden University! You are warmly invited to join us for this festive day at Wijnhaven, The Hague.
Midlife or Public Administration 3.0?
In 1984, the foundation was laid for Public Administration in Leiden and for the development of the field in the Netherlands. Now, 40 years later, Public Administration is more relevant than ever. In a time of increasing crises, societal polarisation, and a growing gap between government and citizens, we ask ourselves: what impact has our field had, and what does the future demand of us?
What to expect?
During this Anniversary Day, we will reflect on four decades of insights and developments and look ahead to the challenges of today and tomorrow. We will do this with an inspiring programme full of interesting speakers and sessions, also specifically designed for students.
Programme:
13:00 – 14:00 | Plenary opening with speakers Jan van Zanen, Bernard Steunenberg and Henri Lenferink (in Dutch)
14:00 – 15:00 | First session round: a.o. Traineeships in the EU
15:00 – 15:15 | Break
15:15 – 16:15 | Second session round: a.o. MPA Alumni Q&A
16:30 – 17:30 | Plenary closing with speakers Alexandra van Huffelen, Bram Klievink, comedian Teun van den Elzen, and the essay contest award ceremony (in Dutch)
