National protest against budget cuts: Alternative Opening of the Academic Year in Utrecht

29 August 2024

The new government’s plans to slash budgets are of great concern to us all: what will happen to higher education and scientific research? Leiden University is drawing attention to this at the Opening of the Academic Year in Leiden’s Pieterskerk church on Monday 2 September. Concerned students and staff from all universities are also taking action that day: they are coming together at Domplein in Utrecht for an Alternative Opening of the Academic Year. A large number of partners have joined forces for this: AOb, FNV, CNV, PNN, PostdocNL, APnet, CasualAcademy, 0.7, LSVb, ISO, DJA, UNL and WOinActie.

Will you be joining them? The AOAJ is being held at Domplein in Utrecht (11.00-12.45 hrs.). For more information see the AOb website.

Moderators: Willemien Sanders & Claire Weeda from WOinActie
