Update process of cultural change Faculty of Archaeology

25 July 2024

Following the advice of the committee that investigated reports of undesirable behaviour and violation of scientific integrity by a professor, the first steps have been taken for a process of cultural change at the Faculty of Archaeology. The formulation of the assignment and selection of the agency that will supervise the cultural process have recently been completed.

We can now tell you that we have chosen Breinkorf, located in Utrecht.

Breinkorf specialises in guiding employees in change processes, and focuses on creating a safe and healthy working environment for all employees. It is important that all Faculty employees participate: researchers, lecturers, PhD candidates, postdocs, policy and administrative support staff and board members.

This process of cultural change will provide room for everyone's input, for healing and for improvements, including in the organisation, that will help make the Faculty healthier. This process will be developed in collaboration with the Faculty Board. A number of professional coaches from Breinkorf, in consultation with a sounding board group consisting of Faculty employees, will start discussions and coaching after the summer holidays. You will receive more information about the start date, the working method and the details of this process towards that time.
