Temporary anti-squat measures in the North Cluster

8 July 2024

The move from the North Cluster (the current Matthias de Vrieshof) to the new Herta Mohr building is almost complete. This summer, the buildings will be handed over to vacant property manager De Vastgoedbeschermer, which will manage, monitor and provide occupancy for the North Cluster from the time of handover until building work can start. The aim is to start the design process for the North Cluster in 2025.

By using the space in the North Cluster as temporary housing, good use will be made of the buildings until the reconstruction work has started. Moreover, the anti-squat use of vacant space helps alleviate some of the housing shortage in Leiden for students and others.
