In the upcoming weeks, logging in to some educational applications will slightly change. The login will be changed to a login via SURFconext.

How will this effect you as a user?

Ultimately, not much, because you will still log in with your ULCN username and password, and multifactor authentication. However, the first time you log in after the conversion, you will see a consent screen in which SURFconext will tell you which information is being forwarded to the application for you. You are probably already familiar with this screen from other applications that have their login via SURFconext.

Eventually, you will also have to indicate via which institution you want to log in, because a login option via ‘Leiden University Medical Center’ will be added in due course. This new login option is only intended for employees of the LUMC. If you are a student, employee or guest at Leiden University, you should of course choose continue to use 'Leiden University'.
