Public Administration is celebrating its 40th anniversary at Leiden University! To mark this milestone, we are organising various festive activities this fall for our students, alumni, and staff.

On the evening of Thursday, 26 September, we will toast to four decades of academic and professional success during a party at the Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague. Ticket sales for Public Administration students start on Monday, September 2 at 12:00 PM. Be quick, as there is a limited number of tickets available.

The programme of the anniversary day on Wednesday, 27 November will focus on the impact of public administration on the state of governance. Through engaging panel discussions and lectures, we aim to challenge participants to critically reflect on and find new approaches to the complex issues of today and the future. Throughout the fall, leading and influential professionals working in and around the public sector will give lectures in and alongside the curriculum. What relevant experiences, insights, and lessons do they have for public administration? Keep an eye on the course page on Brightspace for more information.

Especially for students, we are organising an essay competition. The conditions will be posted on the website and Brightspace soon. The winner will be announced during the anniversary day. In addition to a prize and certificate, the winning essay will be published in Bestuurskundige Berichten, the magazine of the student association BIL.
