Visit the University of Helsinki for the Medieval-Modern Forum
The Europaeum organises the 'Medieval-Modern Forum: Flourishing Then and Now' from June 24 until June 27. This forum is organised in Helsinki and you can register now.
This forum poses three questions about 'flourishing'.
In dit forum staat het begrip 'flourishing', vrij vertaald 'opbloeien', in de context van de Middeleeuwen centraal. How did medieval sources theorise flourishing, and how did their theorisations relate to those of other traditions in the Middle Ages and in Antiquity? How were theories of flourishing translated across different domains such as literature, art, culture, ideas, social practices, institutions, or environment? And finally, how can medieval ideas about fostering well-being of persons, communities, or nature relate to, and inform, contemporary debate?
Application Requirements
The Europaeum would like to invite applications from Master’s and doctoral students at Europaeum member universities. Successful candidates will be provided with accommodation free of charge and will be reimbursed reasonable travel expenses within Europe.
