Vacancy: New LUC Student Ambassadors
Be a student ambassador for LUC!
For the upcoming semester and next academic year (2025-2026), LUC is looking for Student Ambassadors. This means being a representative (voorlichter) of Leiden University College The Hague. Student Ambassadors inform prospective students about our Liberal Arts and Sciences: Global Challenges programme at recruitment events such as University Open Days, Experience Days and Evenings, Campus Tours, and Dutch High School Visits. Some of these will be taking place online and some in-person. Some activities are scheduled long in advance and will last a whole day, others are for a few hours or can be announced a couple of days in advance.
Other tasks include:
- Helping prospective students make their best possible study choice
- Connecting with admitted students in spring semester
- Representing LUC on online platform UniBuddy. Here, prospective students can ask you any questions about LUC or your experiences as a student. A select number of Student Ambassadors is on UniBuddy. Not all Student Ambassadors are listed in the Unibuddy platform.
As a Student Ambassador, you should aim to be the person you would have liked to talk to when you were visiting Open Days or getting to know LUC. This does not necessarily mean the person with the slickest marketing pitch. For us, it is someone who answers questions honestly and is genuinely enthusiastic about their programme.
We are looking for students who fulfill the following requirements:
- You are currently a student at LUC, preferably first-year
- You are enthusiastic about LUC
- You are presentable, reliable, proactive, and flexible
- You are available during our recruitment activities. Usually, there are 2 Open Days and 2-4 Experience Days per year. Peak moments are in October/November and February/March.
We are offering:
- Training on the job
- One year contract with Job Motion
- Hourly rate of €16,62
The workload is between 1-16 hours a month. It can vary depending on the number of activities or events and your own availability. If you are selected to be a UniBuddy on the university website, there is a minimum of 4 hours guaranteed per month.
Formal Requirements
This vacancy is open to both EU and Non-EU students. All successful candidates will need to have valid Dutch Health care insurance in order to comply with Dutch law. You will need to be prepared to get this insurance by yourself if you are successful in the application as soon as possible (Dutch health insurance also makes you eligible to receive a subsidy for this (zorgtoeslag)). The process for non-EU students to get a valid work permit can take up to six weeks. More information on this process will be shared with the successful candidate if it applies.
To apply, please click the button below. In the online form we ask you to upload your CV and a video of max. 2 minutes, in which you:
