Then apply for Netherlands Asia Honours Summer School (5 EC) before January 10th!
Please note: Participation in the excursion abroad costs 1200 to 1300 euros. Payment in instalments in possible.
About the Netherlands Asia Honours Summer School
NAHSS yearly offers the chance to obtain knowledge about South-East Asia and China to 70 – 100 ambitious students. From the end of March until the end of September, students participate in a program involving the Asian academic world, business and culture.
Participants will learn more about this year’s theme: Navigating Change by completing a consultancy project for one of the NAHSS partners, visiting companies, attending lectures by Asia-experts, the take-off in The Netherlands and the trip to South-East Asia. The preparatory part in The Netherlands takes up five to seven hours a week. All activities of NAHSS are obligatory.

If you would like to get a clearer picture of NAHSS or have any questions, please be welcome at one of the information meetings. At Leiden University, two information meetings will be held, on top of two nation-wide meetings.

How can I apply?
If you meet the requirements listed above, you can apply via the NAHSS website. The application period runs until January 10th 2024.

Will NAHSS be included on my diploma supplement?
At Leiden University, NAHSS is recognized as a Bachelor Honours Class. These are challenging extracurricular courses aimed to broaden your development. NAHSS counts for 5 EC.
- If you are a student of the Honours College, NAHSS can be counted as part of your honours track. Additionally, this course will be listed on your diploma supplement.
- If you are a regular bachelor student, you will receive a certificate for following a Bachelor Honours Class. Additionally, this course will be listed on your diploma supplement.
