Honours Conference 2024: share your honours experience or enjoy as a visitor!
- Are you an honours student (bachelor/master) and would you like to share your experiences or productions with the honours community?
- Are you curious what insights other honours students have gained?
- Would you like to meet students from other honours programmes at bachelor's and master's level?
Is the answer to any of these questions 'yes'? Then quickly put the Honours Conference of 29 February 2024 in your calendar!
What is the Honours Conference?
Honours education challenges students to look beyond the boundaries of their own academic discipline and connects students from different programmes with each other. The Honours Conference was born in this spirit: a moment to bring students from all kinds of honours programmes together. A moment, too, to inspire each other and get new ideas.
The conference will take place in the Old Observatory in Leiden at 17:00-19:00 hrs. At the conference, you can present something yourself or enjoy the productions of others.
Participate!
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Honours Academy. This version of the Honours Conference will therefore be extra special. Don't miss out and register quickly as a presenter or visitor!
By filling in the form, we can better prepare for the event and make it a success. We look forward to receiving your registration!
About the submissions
The conference consists of a series of presentations by honours students. These relate, for instance, to an inspiring honours course, finding, experience, internship, research project or creative production. Students can submit a presentation individually or in groups.
Are you currently a participant in an Honours programme? Then we encourage you to contribute! The deadline for submitting presentations is 4 February 23:59 hrs. By 11 February, you will hear from the organisation whether and how your submission will be included in the honours conference programme.
Who are allowed to submit a presentation?
Current participants of the honour programmes below can submit a presentation via the registration button on this page.
What are examples of a presentation I could submit?
You could present about:
- An inspiring experience you had with an honours course, internship, or research project.
- Something enlightening you learned during Honours and want to share with others.
- A poster, video, installation or other creative product you have made as part of Honours. Please note: In this case, it's likely you won't get a regular 'presentation slot', but a place where you can show your product and explain it to visitors. You will be contacted about this by the organisation by February 11th the latest.
What should I keep in mind when presenting?
- The presentation should last a maximum of 10 minutes (in its entirety).
- Use language that is accessible to students from other disciplines. This is to ensure that everyone can learn from different disciplines without the need for prior knowledge.
- You may present individually or in groups.
Please note: Depending on the number of submissions, we may ask you to adjust the format of your presentation. You will be informed of this by 11 February.
