Changes in procedure BA3 thesis trajectory Archaeology

31 August 2023

Before the Summer we have informed you about the changed procedure in the BA3 thesis trajectory.

In short, you will be assigned to a supervisor based on your personal top 5 list. The availability of supervisors will depend on the number of master theses, which will become clear at the end of September. That means that we will not have a list with the number of theses that will be assigned to a supervisor until the first week of October, but the list with all supervisors can be found on our website.

Dr R. van Oosten will host 2 meetings:

  • 15 September: introduction to thesis writing
  • 4 October: Thesis guidelines, referencing and plagiarism.

During these sessions Dr van Oosten will also offer you the possibility to already do some assignments for the course Designing Archaeological Research, that is scheduled in block 3. These assignments are mainly intended to practice the reference system, which is needed for your thesis.

The meetings will be recorded and the links will be available in the Brightspace modules of BA3 thesis and Designing Archaeological Research.

At the end of the last meeting Dr J. Mol will present the list with available supervisors and explain the full procedure, which is also written in text in the Brightspace module of the BA3 thesis 23-24.
