Vacancy: Student/Program Assistant for the Advanced Master LDT program
The Advanced Master Program of Law & Digital Technologies is looking for a Program Assistant (0,5 FTE, i.e. 19 hours/week), starting as of September 1, 2023.
The role of the assistant is to provide support for the program for the academic year 2023-2024, with a primary focus on ensuring the efficient operation of both lectures and courses. This includes, but is not limited to, facilitating the in-class education model with incidental hybrid sessions (serving both remote and local students at the same time) and community building.
Tasks include, but are not limited to (and may change with developments):
- Delivering general program information (cf. info shared at the information session on the first day of the program: contact info, program overview, explaining different types of activities, FAQs, pointers to university services, etc.) via Brightspace, Slack, in person, and possibly other modes of communication.
- Logistic support in the delivery of lectures, including hybrid and remote sessions where applicable (handling attendance lists, setting up tooling and environments, and in hybrid sessions: helping students connect, moderating, and addressing connection problems, etc.)
- Supporting the community building between the students, e.g. by providing support for (program-initiated as well as student-led) activities.
- Communication with students and informing staff of concerns and/or developments among the students.
Expected skills, experience, and characteristics:
- Familiarity with the program (preferably a current student or alumnus of the Advanced Master LDT program, or of another Advanced Master program of Leiden Law School)
- Dexterity with communication tools and learning management systems, and ability to quickly figure out new tools and modes of operation.

Terms and conditions
The starting date is September 1, 2023. The appointment has a probationary period until October 31, 2023, and will be extended until August 31, 2024, in case of a positive evaluation. The offered position as Program Assistant (“O&O-medewerker”) will be for 0,5 FTE, which has a salary of 2818 euros gross for 1,0 FTE per month.
