Johan Verweij temporarily employed as Board Secretary at Archaeology
From 1 February 2023, Johan Verweij (1968) will be temporarily employed as Board Secretary at the Faculty of Archaeology. Johan Verweij has been working as Board Secretary (and Department Head of Policy and Administrative Support) at the Faculty of Humanities since 2015. Last year, he was seconded to the department of Strategy and Academic Affairs (SAZ) Directorate where he was working on realising the second ambition of the University Strategic Plan to promote interdisciplinary cooperation within the University.
Johan Verweij was trained as a political scientist and has a PhD in the sociology of religion. He worked as a researcher and lecturer at various institutions (such as Tilburg University, Sociaal Cultureel Planbureau and the NIVEL) and then moved to more supportive positions within higher education, working as Education Manager, Policy Officer, Programme Manager and Board Secretary (within the Vrije Universiteit, TU Delft and Leiden University, among others). His main interest lies in developing and implementing strategic plans and in shaping and streamlining administrative processes.
The Faculty Board of Archaeology welcomes Johan Verweij and is looking forward to the collaboration.
