How to deal with coronavirus?
In our daily lives we are less aware of the coronavirus it, but it is still important to realise that it hasn’t disappeared. Also in our classrooms. The University follows the rules of the Dutch Government. We kindly ask you all to act responsibly and help ensure a safe study and work environment. With all the upcoming festivities, get-togethers with friends and family and the exam period, we remind you of the coronavirus rules.
Basic rules
- The general basic rules apply at all University buildings, e.g. cough and sneeze in your elbow, ensure plenty of fresh air, and wash your hands regularly.
- If you have symptoms and want to come to the University, do a test. You can pick up free tests now at the KOG reception desk after showing your LU card.
- If you test positive, stay at home and self-isolate. By doing so, you will protect your (fellow) students, teaching staff and colleagues.
- Not sure if you need to self-isolate? Do the government quarantine check. Stay at home if this check tells you to do so. Help keep your (fellow) students and staff healthy and keep the University open. MijnVraagOverCorona.nl | Rijksoverheid.nl
For students
- Corona is considered a ‘common’ illness. This means that students who miss classes because of coronavirus cannot claim extra facilities.
- If you are only permitted to be absent once during a course and you miss one class because you have coronavirus, you don’t have to do anything. However, if you miss another class you will receive a notification from the OIC with the option to submit a petition with a valid reason to the Board of Examiners. If that valid reason is sufficiently plausible, the Board of Examiners will grant that request. Illness, including coronavirus, is a valid reason.
- If you were unable to sit the examination because of coronavirus, you will receive a notification from the OIC (Intent to exclude from re-sit) with the option to submit a petition with a valid reason to the Board of Examiners.
