Do you want to conduct your thesis research in Rome? That is possible at the KNIR

25 November 2022

On behalf of the Royal Netherlands Institute of Rome (KNIR), we would like to inform you about the possibility of conducting (part of) your thesis research in Rome. Are you doing or will you be doing research into Italian (art) history, politics or architecture, or do you need to be in Rome for another reason? Then you have come to the right place at the KNIR! The Institute makes grants available twice a year that give students the opportunity to conduct their research in Rome for a minimum of two and a maximum of seven weeks. At the KNIR you will be supervised by the academic staff, you can make use of the extensive library collection and Roman archives, and you have the opportunity to present your research. The application deadline for a stay in the spring of 2023 is 15 May.

A number of things are required for registration: a motivation letter, a Curriculum Vitae, an official recent grade list and a detailed research proposal. Are you interested? Then register on the KNIR website.

Do you have any questions or doubts? Please contact the ambassadors of the KNIR at your university. We can tell you everything and are happy to help you with the registration.
