As a student, you can take part in the following university co-participation bodies:
Stand as a candidate
Members of the University Council and faculty councils are chosen every year by way of university elections.
Want to play a role in decisions concerning your study programme? Why not join your programme committee? In general, new members join at the beginning of each academic year. Contact your programme committee for further information.
National student organisations
You could also join one of the national organisations that represent the interests of students, for example the Dutch Student Union (LSVb) or the Dutch National Student Association (ISO).
Faculty Council
The Faculty Council advises the Faculty Board solicited and unsolicited advice on all matters on Faculty level relating to teaching, research, and organisation.
Participation
Half of the Faculty Council is elected from and by the staff, the other half from and by the students. The members of the Council are elected in accordance with the regulations concerning University elections (Dutch), as drawn up by the University Executive Board.
Research Master’s Programme Committee (R-MOC)
The Research Master’s Programme Committee acts as advisor to the Programme Board. In other to ensure a broad basis for advice, the Committee includes 5 students, in addition to one lecturer for each research master track.
The Committee deals with various issues related to programme quality control, including the discussion of individual course evaluations, the yearly approval of the Course & Examination Regulations, the educational programme, and proposals for reforms. The Institute Master's Programme Committee is responsible for the constant process of adjusting and modifying the education programme, for instance, by means of education evaluations, both small-scale and large-scale.
Participation
Students are encouraged to participate as much as possible in the resulting reorganisations of education.
Meetings
The Research Master’s Programme Committee meets about four times a year. The sessions are open to the public. Students contribute to the R-MPC's activities through regular written education evaluations and evaluation panels. In addition, students can always approach members of the R-MPC with remarks concerning the programme.

International Student Platform
International students who want to have a say in our programme are welcome to the International Student Platform (ISP). The ISP meets at least three times a year.
Educational problems specific for international students
The International Student Platform (ISP) is mainly concerned with educational problems specific for international students. But there is enough space to discuss all possible bottlenecks that international students are facing during their stay at Leiden University.
