These are the options available
As a student, you can take part in the following university co-participation bodies:
Stand as a candidate
Members of the University Council and faculty councils are chosen every year by way of university elections.
Want to play a role in decisions concerning your study programme? Why not join your programme committee? In general, new members join at the beginning of each academic year. Contact your programme committee for further information.
National student organisations
You could also join one of the national organisations that represent the interests of students, for example the Dutch Student Union (LSVb) or the Dutch National Student Association (ISO).
At LUMC, students are closely involved in upholding the quality of education. The study association M.F.L.S. has a central role and students are represented in different parts of the organisation.
Student assessor
The student assessor is part of the LUMC Executive Board and is the link between the Executive Board, students and Leiden University. The assessor takes part in many meetings which are related to education and study affairs and he will regularly consult with the programme members of study association M.F.L.S.

Programme members study association M.F.L.S.
The M.F.L.S. board has two programme members: one for Medicine and one for Biomedical Sciences. Together with the student assessor, the programme members give advice on different matters which are related to education.
Year representatives
Both programmes have six year representatives for each year. All year representatives are published on the website of M.F.L.S. These students evaluate the courses using the surveys you fill out after each course. In addition, several year representatives meet to discuss the curriculum and its implementation.
Student Council of LUMC
The seven members of the LUMC Student Council are elected during the university elections. For a year, they commit to serving the interests of all LUMC students.
