Olympic gold for Industrial Ecology student Dirk Uittenbogaard
Dirk Uittenbogaard, a student on the Delft-Leiden Master’s in Industrial Ecology, has won a gold medal for rowing at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Uittenbogaard took gold in the men’s quadruple sculls, together with Abe Wiersma, Tone Wieten and Koen Metsemakers.

Second Caring Universities research results: students are reporting more psychological issues
In June 2020, Caring Universities researched the mental health and resilience of students. This was repeated again in January 2021. The results of this second investigation show that more students are reporting psychological issues such as stress and mood swings than during the first investigation.

The Caring Universities consortium conducts a survey every year on the state of students’ mental health. Following previous surveys in 2020 and 2021, a new study was carried out in November 2022. This latest survey shows that many students still suffer from mental health problems.
